These photos taken in a sushi restaurant in Taman Yulek. We never expect to have a sushi restaurant here. Since the first trying we have been the fan for this restaurant. The name of this restaurant is 2219 and run by a small family. The sushi SIFU is the father which is very cool and not a talkative person.
Julie is not a very big fan for sushi but my mother in-law is. Mother likes their sashimi very much. Julie and I normally will have one slice each and the remaining will be finish off by mother. Julie don’t really like the raw meat served in the sushi, before this she seldom take any sushi. But one of her favorite sushi is the corn mayo – sushi with corn salad as the topping. Normally we will order 2 or 3 set corn mayo and Julie can finish off all, if I and mother forget to take our portion.
As I mention before the family’s father is the sushi SIFU. Every time we go there he is always showing his trademark poker face – emotionless. I believe he open this restaurant just wanna kill off his time, but not for money. Why? Because after 8pm he will refuse to take any new order, even though there is empty table in the shop, tabao( take a way) also cannot. And this SIFU always take his sweet sweet time to prepare the dishes. My record is waited for 1+ hour for our sushi to come. I know one of my friend had waited for 3HOURS…. But honestly the sushi/sashimi in the restaurant is a lot fresher and taster than those big sushi chain outlets. I seen before one lady ask the SIFU to have add-on order, maybe the first order is not enough. You know what the SIFU reply? Go back home eat MAGGI if you still feel hungry! Yap make sure you order enough food for you self if not need to eat MAGGI!!.
If you wanna try this restaurant make sure go early, if not you will need to wait for long long time.
